A Walk Through History
Rivet is a Levi's heritage store in Bangalore, showcasing a hundred years of the brand’s global presence. The store experience needed to facilitate an engagement with the brand’s legacy. We designed the History Wall at the Rivet store as a 34 ft long wall to narrate the story of the Levis brand through a graphic-rich archive of advertisements, catalogs, letters and milestone garments, running alongside concurrent world history.
A 'smart' touch-screen, combined with customized electronics, slides along the length of the History Wall and detects the decades mapped on the wall to reveal detailed information for corresponding decade. The visual interface mimics the spontaneous abundance of a Levi's fanatic scrapbook, with links containing detailed information revealed within a rich collages depicting individual decades.
The identity designed for the store revels in its vintage character and is inspired from the landmark rivet patent attributed to founder—Levi Strauss. In-store signage and product descriptors were developed to establish the unique museum-like character of this heritage store.
